Normal Entry Requirements for Degree Courses (in line with NCHE requirements)
To be admitted for the Victoria University MSc Programme, you must have achieved an honours degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
In addition to the above we will consider appropriate Health and Safety Level 7 (Uganda), Level 6 (Europe) qualifications, or professional qualifications with relevant experience, or other qualifications equivalent to the above.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate a proficiency in the English language by passing an English proficiency Test conducted by the University.

What you will Learn
A student who successfully completes the course will have achieved the following Course Learning Outcomes:
Gain a critical understanding of the legislative, technical and scientific knowledge of HSE issues and interventions in varying complex situations across different industrial sectors.
Analyse the various workplace hazards (physical, chemical and biological) including their detrimental effects on health and the environment.
Appraise the influence and importance HSE leadership and culture in the management and control of HSE risks within the workplace.
Analyse hazards, risks in the workplace including ability to carry out workplace risk assessments and accident investigations with the aim of providing mitigation and prevention strategies.
Identify and critically analyse issues that can influence the development and effective
implementation of environmental management systems.
Demonstrate understanding of key technical options for the prevention, treatment, mitigation and measurement of pollution emissions and waste and identify the Best Available Technologies.
Design and undertake an independent research project related to health, safety and environmental issues/concerns and write a substantive piece of work at the master’s level.
